As of early 2008, tickets to attend an AKB48 performance at the Don Quixote building in Akihabara are no longer available from the theatre itself; instead, they must be won through an email lottery system put in place by the management. In 2009 a website was established to make the process easier, and a guide can be found the Nihongogo forum.
